Rahu’s transit by house from the Moon
The nodal transit is read by the house Rahu occupies from your natal Moon; Ketu always sits in the 7th house opposite, with the complementary emptying effect. Rahu is classically stronger in the upachaya houses — the 3rd, 6th, 10th, and 11th — where struggle turns into growth. These are tendencies, not verdicts:

Worked example. Say your natal Moon is in Aries and Rahu is transiting Aquarius. Counting from Aries to Aquarius — Aries (1), Taurus (2), … Capricorn (10), Aquarius (11) — Rahu is in the 11th from your Moon, and Ketu sits opposite in the 5th (Leo).

How often do Rahu and Ketu change signs?
About every 18 months. Because the nodes move retrograde, the axis shifts backward through the zodiac, so the houses they activate from your Moon change roughly once every year and a half.
Why are Rahu and Ketu always in opposite houses?
They are the two ends of a single axis — the points where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic — so they always sit exactly 180 degrees apart. Whatever house Rahu transits, Ketu transits the seventh from it, which is why the two are always read together.
Are the nodal transits read from the Moon sign or the ascendant?
Classically from the natal Moon sign (janma rasi), like the other gochara. Some astrologers also read them from the ascendant (lagna); a differing reference point is the usual reason two sources place your nodal transit in different houses.
